CNE

Aug. 19th Sunday

I was having a lazy sunday in afternoon. Actually, I always say "Life is boring~" or "Life is difficult~" However, I'm trying to enjoy my life. So, I thought what should I do, what should I do in such a beautiful sunday~ Finally, Daniel suggested to go to Canadian National Exhibition. Unfortunately, Celine who is a happy Chinese girl had to work all day. So, Daniel, Caio and I decided to go and Daniel said "See? There are a lot of things to do~!!"

First, we went to casino patio. It was like a carnival. We was just watching people were playing but suddenly, some balls came to me. I thought someone threw to wrong way, so, I brought them back. But the balls kept coming to me and I realized the onwer threw the balls to attract me. So, I decided tried and paid $5, then, the owner said "Oh, I gave you more than 20 balls but I got only $5~~~ ^-^" and he gave me a little doll even though I failed every time. I didn't bring any cash at that timel. That's why I just tried once but If I had more money, I would spend all money that I had. Because I like those kind of gambling.

And then, we looked around exhibition about products from all over the world, living, dog show and so on. Especially, Jacuzzi was soooooooo attractive!!! HOWEVER, the cost was about $20,000.00!!! Some things were even more expensive!! They said you can pay little by little and then, we calculated........ If I buy that, I have to pay for over 30~50 years!!!! But the Jacuzzi is still sweet~!! ^-^;

There were more interesting things to see and enjoy. We saw new TTC Street cars, parades, experiencing Canadian Force, X-game, etc. Oh, and we saw the world's tallest freestanding LEGO structure!!!

Jazz festival??

July. 31

Saturday, finally, Celine came back to toronto from Shanghai!! She had gone to China for 3 months for her summer vacation and visiting her family. I met her at Tim hortons right after she got back home with Violet, Rieko and Daniel. We didn't feel like we had never met for 3 months. We had conversation as usual until 2 am.

Sunday, we went to woodbine beach to see jazz performance. It was my first time to go there. (Actually, I still have never gone to even Toronto iland. So, everybody's surprised after knows that.) I had heard the beach is look like real beach before. Yes, it was true~ the sand was good as well. Oh, and there was beach only for dogs. I think that is really good idea.

We heard some music and we followed the sound BUT it was NOT jazz~~ so, we thought maybe here is not right place and then, we went to queen street. We heard sound of music again and we found the place, that was not jazz either. It was kind of south american music. We really expected real free jazz and that was the last performance. That's why we thought it would be really nice 'cause that's the finale. Usually, final performence is the best. However... there was no jazz. I don't know maybe we just couldn't find; even though there was really good jazz concert. Anyway, that music was also nice and singer was so cute. Plus, to watching some audience who were dacing with same pose and action was fun. It was so hot, we were starving and that was not jazz that we expected. So we stayed just for a while and went to Cristie to eat Kamjatang. Celine said she really missed Kamjatang.

Actually, we went to St. louis to eat chiken wings, too, today. After Celine came back we make plan just for eating almost everyday ^-^;;; Next restorant will be hooters(to see sexy waitresses!! hehe).

Unlucky day

July 21

My external hard drive has some problems that my computer can't recognize it. I searched how I can fix it up on the net, but I couldn't. So, I went to Daniel's place. Actually, I didn't want to ask him about that because I had asked him every time my computer had had problems. One day, I brought my computer and he connected it to his one and then, 15 seconds later, mine started to infect his one with viruses. (To be honestly, my computer had more than 300 viruses at that time ^-^;;;;;) After that, he had to format his computer. Of course, my computer had to format as well and of course he did it for me(actually, for my poor computer ^-^;;). And I decided I'll never ask him about my computer. I was so sorry for him. HOWEVER... I asked again. I didn't know someone else who knows about computer things well. Plus, his roommate was a computer specialist in Brazil. So, I asked again under unavoidable circumstances. ^-^;; As my expectation, they teased me. "Do you really need a computer?" "Every electronic things scares at you. Plese don't touch my computer, Xbox etc." like that. T.T It was okay because all I need was fixing my external hard drive. Nevertheless, they couldn't fix it. They needed a desktop for fixing it, but they and I have only laptops.

Therefore, I went to a best buy which I bought it. There was one girl who is from India and had problems with her computer and she kept complaining. "Even though I bought warrantee, I have to pay more and they make me keep waiting~~~" so I said "Really? How come? I think I should pay more as well" Our conversation was all complaint. Finally, a guy who works there came to me and said "Sorry, we don't have any screwdrivers that can open your hard drive, so, we couldn't even check this. You should go to other repair store." What? It doesn't make sense!! I bought extra warrantee because they said if I buy extra warrantee, they'll fix a product that I bought for free and if they can't fix, they'll exchange for new one. However, now, they can't fix and they say just "sorry". At that time, the indian girl helped me and the guy said "ok, then, I'll give a new one" Hehehe~ ^-^ but I didn't exchange because I didn't want to lose my files: my pictures that I took for about a year, animations, movies, my bank informations etc. After I came back home, I checked many sites for data recovery on the net. It costs, at least, $400.00. At least $400.00!! So, I gave up!! I'll go to a best buy to exchange next week. T.T

After that, I went to Mie's work place, but she already left, so I coulnd't see her, and I went to have late dinner with Daniel, but a restorant that I wanted to go already closed, so I went to another restorant(actually, that restorant was good), but my chopsticks were broken, and I went to a supermarket to buy a sampoo. Finally, just $5.00 left in my purse. I don't have money, thesedays 'cause I lended my money to my friend.
FORTUNATELY, I FOUND $10.00 ON THE STREET, ON MY WAY BACK HOME. It was not my day, totally~ but I was happy with $10.00 ^-^

Festival

16th. July

I went to Nathan Philiips Square to see "Thai Food Festival" with Mie(again, hehe^-^;). My major was Thai and Japanese languages in university and I have really beautiful memory about Thailand; even though I've almost forgot Thai language, I'm still interested in Thai culture.

People could rent a traditional thai cloth and took a picture.
To see white girl wear the cloth was a fresh impression to me. We, also, got many imformation about thai food. For example, Mulberry green tea, mangosteen juice, some sort of chilly sauce and so on. Mulberry green tea's taste is like a normal green tea but there is no bitter taste and no caffeine. According to some reports, that is good for high-blood pressure, cholesterol, cold, etc. Mangosteens are good for our health as well but I didn't know that most good things are contained in the peel. That's why a mangosteen juice that have every part of the fruit is better, the seller said. And then, we tried thai chilly sauce. It was not that spicy when I put that in my mouth but 20~30 seconds later...... my mouth started burning. It was so exciting!! ^-^ After checked every booth, I bought some tea and Mie bought the chilly sauce.

And then, we tried some thai dished; pattai, green curry and fried rice. It was my first time to try green curry. It was mild than normal curry. I thought curry is always yellow,
but green? It was so nice!!

We enjoyed traditional thai dance and music, too. I hope I can see Korean festival in Toronto, someday.....

And then, we went to see a play, "Yabuno naka". I think everybody already knows my story about that. Here are some pictures and link.

talk, talk, talk

8th. July

I went to a silver city movie theater which is located at Yogne-Eglinton to watch a movie, Transformer with my friend, mie. Transformer is one of the most expected movies in this year. Actually, I really really wanted to see this movie from last winter. It was awesome as my expectation!! Another my friend, Daniel, watched Transformer animation when he was 9 years old. He had always thought like "I wanna see real robots, not in an animation, someday!!" Now, the dream came true(Of course, the robots are unreal in the movie but, well, it looks like real!!). So he and I were really excited after we saw the trailer last winter. I'll buy the DVD later.

After the movie was finished, Mie and I went to a Korean/Japanese restorant because we needed rice. ^-^;; And then, we went to starbucks to grab a coffee(We love coffee!! I think we are addicted coffee.). Mie is from Japan. We have known each other for 10 months. She likes to make comparison between asian culture and western. Today's topic was about Korean, Japanese and Latin guy.(Actually, our topic is usually about guy ^-^;;;). She said Korean guy is the best as a boyfriend. Firstly, most Korean guy take military service. That's why she thinks they are manly and have good body shape(more muscle, tall etc.) Secondly, they are pure and kind to women. For example, when a woman and a guy walk on street together, guy always walks beside road for protecting her. Well, I agree with some part. I think Korean guys more try to protect women than other guys who are from other countries. At that time, we ran into Daniel and he joined us. He is a Brazilian but he doesn't look like Brazilian because his parents are Chinese. I met him last september. Anyway, his opinion about Korean guy was that they're so nice to women and treat women all day. However, they start to change after marry. That's true but I think they were influenced from so many Korean drama.

And we had to leave starbucks 'cause it was time to close. So we went to St. louis to drink. About Japanese guy, Mie said like young Jpanese guys want to make a girl friend just for having fun, thesedays. And I said Latin guys think about girls more easily and they can make a girl friend really simply. There was really really cute Japanese girl in my ex-class. Every guy wanted to date with her but they couldn't even try to talk with her. One day, one Mexican guy started to come this class and he talked to her right away and then they started dating 3 days later. Mie totally agreed with me and we think they often cheat on their girl friends. But Daniel said No, no, no, no~~~~~ that depends on person and he and his friends have never cheated in their life.

Mie heard interesting things from Canadian guys on the subway few days ago. They said Canadian think Asian women are so smart and usually Canadian guys prefer to Chinese women. Korean women are traditional so they don't allow anything and they have no idea about Japanese women. Daniel and I were surprised 'cause we thought they prefer to Japanese women. We saw that many canadian guys were with Japanese women. And Daniel said reson why Canadian guys like Asian women is that they think Asian women serve men. They do all house work like cook, clean up and so on for men. On the other hand, western women are independent and men should do house work for women. Daniel really thinks so about Brazilian women. In Brazil, he always cooked for his ex-girlfriend and the ex-girlfriend always was just waiting for dishes and said hurry, hurry, hurry, too late!! I'm so hungry!!! like this. But I think Asian women are independent as well thesedays. It's not the 18 century anymore.

After that we talked of personl things 'cause of alcohol, we can't continue the topic. We really enjoyed conversation and we were so happy that night~ ^-^

http://www.toronto.com/ You can check movie theaters' location, list and time table as well.

PS: Don, I'm so sorry for late report. I couldn't use internet from yesterday in my house. I'm using wireless internet, so it happens sometimes.
